the last year has been hell in some ways

let me see -- I have been labelled weird, sterile, gay, impotent, and also ridiculed for not joining in the party ( aka drinking ) , not eating non vegetarian food ...

So firstly the tradition here is to go to a strip/ gentlemans club on arrival -- it is some sort of bloody Indian tradition --- apparently something to do with your masculinity and machoness factor --- so me NOT going to them and NOT agreeing to give company to some of my 'friends' resulted in the gay,etc tag. And oh yea u are gay unless you ogle at every string bikini clad woman at USC..

Next off course is drinking --- apparently drinking is one of the paths to salvation -- and not drinking is considered to be too conservative and not joining in the fun -- so on and so forth ---

Oh yea I do not eat non veg food -- no reason as such -- just a part of the culture --- that was how I was brought up ---- so apparently I must change my culture to fit in-----I am told of this at every step --- people try their best to tell me to start eating --- maan I have nothing against the food --- it is just a part of my culture --
how would they like it, if a Korean ( whose diets includes cockroaches) ask them to eat some --- that would be very different off course isnt it .........

Interestingly the whites whom I came across accept you for what you are --- but not the Indians -- the Indians love imposing their rituals on others --- and if you dont follow what they consider is 'cool' / 'right' be ready for some brickbats ---

Finally what can I say, in India people used to label me because of the way I look, and I come here and the same damn Indians label me because I don't join in some 'macho' traditions of theirs --- sheesh

just because you live near Sunset Boulevard/ Hollywood you need not be morally depraved DO YOU ?
